How To Monitor Noise At Your Rental

One of the biggest complaints of residents in Jewett in regards to short term rentals is noise level. While your guests are just trying to have a good time and enjoy the outdoors, which is understandable! - they are often not aware of how loud they actually are. Sound carries on the mountain and is amplified. There are some simple things you can do to help mitigate this issue.

  1. Turn off auto-booking, screen your guests and only allow a reasonable occupancy of 2 adults per proper bedroom (not including littles). If you have a 3 bedroom house, 12 renters would not be appropriate

  2. Make note in your house rules that Jewett is a very quiet rural town. No parties. No noise after 10pm

  3. Consider getting a noise monitor to alert you if your guests are becoming disruptive. Check out Minut Noise Monitor and Party Squasher (*these are not affiliate links )
